These pages still deserve a plain account of how they are made, what they refuse to sign, and who stands behind the phone.
The production tax page, the school rate page, and the close were written from Comptroller pages and from the way a net deposit actually arrives. Software may start a draft. The draft stays down until someone in this practice has checked it against the source. A wrong figure is one phone call from being changed.
What a first reading of a Basin file includes.

A first reading is the statements, the bank, and the last return, in that order. We are looking for whether the months can close, whether a purchaser already took the production tax, and whether a report someone asked you to sign has to go somewhere else. We are not looking for a clever ending.
If the file is a shop inside the city, the reading also includes the sales tax payable and the day it leaves the bank. If the file is a working interest, the reading includes the gross, the tax, and the net, as three lines. If both are true, we keep them apart. Mixing them is how a year gets told twice.
Price is named after that reading, for the scope in front of us. A year that is already closed and a year that is still open are not the same job, so this page does not print an average. The quote you receive names what is in and what is out. On a file here, extra work means another month of statements or a notice nobody mentioned, and that extra is priced in the conversation before it begins.

Where the 4.6 and the 8.25 came from.
A figure about this city has to survive a reading against the Comptroller page we actually opened. The sales slices, the 0.8415 school rate, the 4.6 percent on crude, and the May franchise threshold are here because we wrote down the page and the day. A number remembered from a conversation does not get that treatment, and it does not get a sentence.
What is checked before the page is public.

The practice holds no CPA license. It is not a CPA firm. Signature work stays outside, and by that we mean an audit, a review, a compilation, or an opinion on financial statements. A lender who wants that signature hears it before anything else, and hears where the request has to go.
After setup, payday belongs to the full service provider you already run. We do not run it. An examination is yours to attend. Papers a notice asks for come out of the file we hold.
Preparing a return, advising an owner, and preparing statements that carry no attached report are allowed in Texas without a license. The capitol statutes site is where we read Occupations Code sections 901.451, 901.453, and 901.456 before this paragraph was published. Assurance is the part that stays with license holders.
On a royalty file the limit that matters is simpler. We will not read a month that is still open and pretend the reading is a close. Closing those months is the offer, and a no is the other offer, and you hear which one before anyone talks about a fee.
